About Me

Brandon Rechten graduated from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University with a degree in Graphic Design / Photography.

He currently works in Marketing as a Graphic Design Specialist where he creates everything from web imagery and printed leaflets to large-scale trade show walls. He also does freelance photography and graphic design on the side.

Brandon’s  photographic interest lies primarily in urban decay and the remnants that people leave behind. His initial interest in this subject grew from exploring an abandoned furniture warehouse in his hometown that had been closed due to arson.

After exploring and photographing the burnt-out warehouse he discovered the work of Robert Polidori and his photographs of the Chernobyl disaster. Inspired by the desolate beauty of these photographs he set out to discover abandoned locations that display a similar contrast between entropy and beauty. He has been exploring abandoned buildings for over six years now and continues to seek out additional locations.
